All the lies you paid to profit from

I can be honest, as a fiction writer. I can. I'm laid out in a comfy chair, I'm eating an Irish cheese on a baguette with chunks of Salami. I'm watching the World Series. I'm a huge Giants fan. I'm sorry. I'm dating a high school teacher, she's a total doll. I nearly forgot I had a website at all. I didn't want any of you reading this, I wanted you all to give up and get out, then when my second collection came out it would be like this long diary of my struggles never existed. There was simply a second book and it was beautiful.

I have news though, so I have to update this.

I had a story accepted in the September issue of Sparkle and Blink titled "It sings us both to Sleep," which is an excerpt from a story titled "Weak Nights" which will be in the second collection.

I'm still being told the story "What you're waiting for" will appear in the upcoming issue 8 of Instant City. It is also slated a spot in the second collection.

I recently covered an event for LitQuake, link below

More news on the up and coming.

I was recently listening to the album "Help Wanted Nights" by The Good Life and I wanted to tell Tim Kasher if Raymond Carver were in a band he would make this music. Then I wondered if Alice Munro were in a band what would that sound like? Emmylou Harris maybe? Then I wanted to start a forum to double up music with the authors we're reading. I often read in diners while eating breakfast and on my walk back home I can get in maybe two songs, sometimes those songs really sync up like I didn't finish reading, like art and emotion just shifted mediums.
Anyone else put their favorite authors in bands or music genres?
